Louise attended Saint Edward’s school, Miss Porter’s School, Wellesley College, and got her MA from Sewanee, the University of the South. After college and living in other parts of the country, in 2000 Louise moved back to Vero Beach, which she has called home since 1980.
Louise helped develop, sell, and manage real estate in Columbus, Ohio in the late 1990’s and first earned her real estate license there. She was a 50% owner in a development company up until 2012 that developed tax credit properties, luxury condominium units, and commercial properties including six Starbucks sites. She was the Executive Director of the Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation in Vero Beach until 2022 and before that was the English Department Chair and a teacher at Saint Edward’s School for 13 years until May of 2020. She is most proud of the educational and humanitarian programs she has built in Kenya that created a strong relationship between Saint Edward’s and a small rural school in the village of Ahero. In October 2019, Louise did her TEDx talk entitled “Empathy in Education.”
Louise is excited to bring her previous experience in real estate to Proctor Kennedy. She has a son, Ivor and a daughter, Fiona, both students at Harvard College.
